Farmsent, the blockchain agritech pioneer and the issuer of the Nusantara Stablecoin (NIDR), today announced its strong support for the Bandung City Government's newly proposed Digital Finance Special Economic Zone. In response to the initiative, Farmsent is strategically aligning its own BDAZ (Bandung Digital Asset Zone) operational framework to establish a major presence within this newly designated blockchain and digital currency corridor.
Earlier this month, Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan revealed plans to transform the historic Asia Afrika area stretching from Cicaheum to Cibeureum into a dedicated economic zone for digital finance, blockchain infrastructure, and digital currencies. The proposal comes on the heels of the recently ratified Indonesian International Financial Center (PFII) Law in July 2026, aimed at making Indonesia a global financial hub.
For Farmsent, the creation of this KEK provides the ideal regulatory and infrastructural sandbox to scale the . Designed as a Rupiah pegged settlement layer for instant, lowcost payments, NIDR aims to serve 300 million people across the archipelago, starting with smallholder farmers and financially excluded citizens.
"The Bandung City Government's vision for a Digital Finance KEK perfectly mirrors our mission at Farmsent," said Yog Shrusti CEO of Farmsent. "By establishing our BDAZ hub within this corridor, we can leverage Bandung’s world-class university talent, optimized infrastructure, and the government's supportive tax incentives. This is a monumental step toward making blockchain technology invisible, accessible, and highly beneficial for Indonesia's real economy, particularly our agricultural sector."
Farmsent will utilize the KEK’s purpose-built infrastructure to host the blockchain nodes and wallet systems powering the NIDR network. This secure, designated digital environment provides the necessary physical and cybersecurity assurances required to support high-frequency, cross-border financial settlements.
The establishment of this digital finance ecosystem in Bandung, coinciding with the official reactivation of the Husein Sastranegara Airport on August 14, 2026, ensures that Farmsent's BDAZ operations will be highly connected to both domestic markets and international investors from regions like Dubai, Taiwan, and China who are already showing interest in the zone.
As Farmsent continues its rollout following provisional OJK regulatory approval, the company will work closely with local authorities to ensure the BDAZ initiative actively contributes to Bandung’s goal of becoming a premier digital innovation hub by 2030, while simultaneously bringing financial inclusion to millions of Indonesian farmers.
