BANDUNG, INDONESIA – September 18, 2026 — Nusantara (NIDR), a pioneer in sovereign digital asset infrastructure and stablecoin architecture, announced its active participation in The Bandung Initiative, held on September 16, 2026, at the Pendopo of the Mayor of Bandung. The landmark summit convened senior government leaders, financial regulators, and technology innovators to position Bandung as a core hub within Indonesia’s Special Financial Zone and International Financial Center (Pusat Finansial Internasional Indonesia / PFII) ecosystem.
The initiative was anchored by Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan, alongside key regulatory leadership including Mr. Muslimin Anwar (Head of Bank Indonesia’s West Java Representative Office) and Mr. Darwisman (Head of the Financial Services Authority / OJK West Java). Nusantara (NIDR) was represented by its Advisor, Mr. Basuri Tjahaja Purnama, former Regent of East Belitung and Commissioner of JIEP.
Driving Sovereign Digital Finance and Real-World Asset (RWA) Tokenization
The Bandung Initiative serves as the operational launchpad for Bandung's formal submission (BDG-IDAFSC-PFII) to establish an AI- and blockchain-powered special financial zone. Moving away from speculative digital assets, the program establishes concrete infrastructure designed to power real economic growth, cross-border settlement, and municipal efficiency.
Nusantara (NIDR) plays a pivotal role in backing the financial architecture required for these sovereign digital initiatives, which include:
Municipal & Institutional Financial Integration: Providing robust digital liquidity rails (NIDR) to support cross-border trade, interbank settlement, and digital escrow within the PFII ecosystem.
Tokenized Carbon & Environmental Assets: Supporting the strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between IRWATA and TAHURA covering over 5,000 hectares of forest conservation. Nusantara’s infrastructure will assist in power-grid management and the development of a tokenized carbon-trading system for measuring, certifying, and commercializing forest carbon credits.
Integrated EV & Clean Energy Infrastructure: Supporting the Joint Commitment Charter signed alongside partners including IRWATA, FARMSENT, TEB, Omniswap, FAST, BULL, and SSD to deploy Indonesia’s first integrated electric vehicle public transit ecosystem, targeting operational deployment by December 2026.
Executive Statements
"Transforming Bandung into an international financial hub requires building a new economic engine rooted in tangible utility," stated Muhammad Farhan, Mayor of Bandung. "Blockchain and digital asset development cannot remain speculative trends. Through the Bandung Initiative, we are establishing business-friendly regulations to attract foreign capital, accelerate technology-driven financial infrastructure, and deliver real prosperity to our citizens."
Nusantara is committed to bridging sovereign economic needs with institutional-grade digital finance," said Mr. Basuri Tjahaja Purnama, Advisor to Nusantara (NIDR). "By anchoring digital assets like NIDR to real-world productivity—from carbon credit tokenization across thousands of hectares to smart municipal databases and clean energy transit—we are proving that Web3 technology can power sovereign financial independence and regional economic expansion."
Strategic Task Force and Next Steps
Following the signing of strategic MoUs at the event, a joint task force comprising representatives from the Bandung City Government, IRWATA, and technology advisors has been formed. The task force will oversee the implementation of blockchain-based public programs, an AI data center for municipal database management, and the rollout of electric public minibuses and charging networks by late 2026.
